Business meeting

Clive Ruggles presented his Chair’s Report, which was accepted by the meeting.

The meeting adopted some small changes to the Working Group’s Terms of Reference.

The meeting then elected its officers for the coming triennium. The new Chair will be Gudrun Wolfschmidt (Germany), with Mikhail Marov (Russian Federation) becoming Vice-Chair. Ian Glass (South Africa) takes over as Secretary. Clive Ruggles, the outgoing Chair, will stay on as Special Advisor with particular responsibility for actions in liaison with UNESCO.

Portal for the Heritage of Astronomy

Following a presentation by Clive Ruggles, the public launch of the Astronomical Heritage web portal, which serves UNESCO’s Astronomy and World Heritage Initiative, took place at 10.30.
